How to Participate

Everything you need to know to take part in the show.

For over 50 years, PCT has only been successful and possible because of the amazing talent of our children and the dedication of our families.

Mark your Calendars!
Auditions for PCT’s 2019 production of “Mary Poppins Jr.” are coming in February, and all Pelham fifth and sixth graders are invited to audition!

Sixth Graders: Wed Feb 6th, 5-7PM
Fifth Graders: Thurs Feb 7th, 3:30-6PM
Callbacks: Fri Feb 8th, 3:30-6PM

Auditions will be held at Prospect Hill Auditorium.

Each child will be given a script and asked to read a few lines from it. The directors will also ask each child to sing a few lines from a favorite song. Please bring a completed Mary Poppins audition form with photo attached. All parents/guardians will receive a follow-up email notifying them of audition results during the week of February 11th. Since this a one-cast production with space constraints, we are sometimes unable to cast all audition participants.

** We ask that before auditioning you and your child aware of both the rehearsal time and the parental involvement commitment.

Actor Commitment

Beginning in March, rehearsals will take place in the Prospect Hill Auditorium and Pelham Memorial High School Auditorium, typically from 4:30-6:30pm Monday-Thursday, and Friday if needed. They will go from March 4th-May 2nd.  As we get closer to the performance date, extra time will be added as needed. Attendance for these rehearsals is mandatory. Each actor’s rehearsal schedule is different depending on their role in the production. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated, and if continued the child will be removed from the play. No food, drinks, soda, candy, or chewing gum is allowed in the auditorium.

** Depending on your role, rehearsals could be once a week, or as much as four times a week. When we are 2 weeks away from the show date, rehearsals will increase and all children must attend. We do not ask for conflicts upfront due to the number of children involved.  When your child is called they are expected to attend rehearsal. It impacts the entire cast when people are absent.

Parent Commitment

If your child is given a role in this year’s production, we count on your enthusiastic support along with your active participation. We request that parents volunteer on one of our committees— a list of those will be available on our website at the time of registration. In addition, all parents will be asked to chaperone twice during rehearsals. Chaperones are essential for the safety of the children.

Participation Fee

There will be a registration fee of $150 if your child is accepted. If you require assistance with this fee, please contact us at We want every child to participate and offer scholarships for those in need.

We look forward to a successful spring production and a rewarding experience for the PCT cast!
